For my End of Year Project I decided to focus on humans under the surface. I did different research on mental disorders and physical illnesses the occur in the human body. After researching I decided to focus on mental disorders because they grabbed my attention the most out of my research. My final piece is a representation of depression. From research I found out that most people with depression describe it like having an emptiness inside them. The painting is a representation of that feeling. That’s the reason why the outline is shaped of a human. The black is to show the loneliness that the person feels. How it surrounds them and leaves them in the darkness. This piece shows how mental disorders can effect a person just as bad as a physical one.
